Introduction to Patrol Drug Investigations

Course #: MCD 0151

This course is designed to provide an overview of patrol investigative techniques.

Course Objectives

At the conclusion of this course, the participant will:

  • Possess knowledge of the history of drug use, distribution methodologies, and current trends of illicit distributors, counterdrug law enforcement and military support techniques.
  • Be familiar with narcotics and dangerous drugs likely to be encountered by patrol officers in their law enforcement duties.
  • Identify multijurisdictional technique standards currently being used in covert and overt narcotic investigations.
  • Identify Supreme Court decisions related to investigations.

Target Audience: Active military, active law enforcement, and criminal justice professionals

Course Duration: 16 hours
